Nonna Carola: Authentic Italian Dining Experience in Mamaroneck, NY

Really enjoyed our dinner here. We made a reservation for an early dinner, and by the time we were walking out it was packed. We ordered the Calamari, burrata and Cesar salad. For mains most of the table got the short rib special (it was amazing) and I got the homemade pasta and lamb Ragu. Be decided to splurge with a little dessert and they sang happy birthday to our friend. All in all it was a good dinner, nothing out of this world to blow your mind, but it feels calm and homey.

Really great meal, I had the short ribs and they were excellent. Service was on point. Only minor complaint was were a party of 6, they seated us at a round table but it was a little too small for all the plates and drinks. Great place to go if you are seeing a show at the Emelin theater.

What a great restaurant. Beautiful venue, not overly noisy, terrific staff, friendly and very professional . The food was the best Italian food I’ve had ever, and I’m older, have eaten at hundreds of Italian restaurants. We came because it was near the Emelin theater, but I’ll be back for the restaurant alone. Danny, the manger was also very friendly and nice to speak with. On a scale of 1-5, this place is a 7.

I took my mother here as a gift for Christmas, and it could not have been better. My reservation was for later but they took us in early anyway. The service was quick, responsive, and very friendly. And the food was just as I’d hoped. I’ve had my share of chicken parm in my life, yet the chicken parm here blew me away. I wish I wasn’t too full for dessert. The holiday atmosphere in the place was perfect for the occasion.

Dined here on Sunday 8/31st, dinner reservation for a party of 10 ladies celebrating a friend's MBA graduation. We were greeted and seated promptly upon arrival. We sat in the back outdoor/patio area. Elvis and all staffed that tended to our table were phenomenal! Tiger shrimp appetizer serving size was generous, taste lacked some flavor. Cocktails - pretty but inconsistent, could use some improvement here. Truffle Trenette - absolutely perfection (chef's kiss!). We added shrimp and mushrooms to the entree. I'd absolutely recommend this restaurant and return very soon.

First time here, and I must say I was impressed. The food was spectacular, the service was great, the prices are fair the quality is great. Good job guys. I will be back

We dine at Nonna Carola more than most Italian restaurants in our area because it is an excellent experience every time. The owner recognizes us, which is actually pretty amazing since he has so many customers between our once or twice annual visits. But the warm hello and recognition is very meaningful. We were joined by friends last night and shared a few appetizers, and then had three pasta dishes and one entree between us. Two of us had cocktails and we shared two desserts. All were very good and wonderfully prepared. Service was very good, if not a little too rapid. One tip for management is to suggest to the service staff to slow just a bit, and definitely do not ask to remove any dishes until it is very clear all are done eating. We twice had to wave away eager busboys. When our waiter served desert, he asked us if we'd like after-dinner drinks on the house -- a really nice touch. My wife and I each had a glass of port. Both the 10- and 20-year glasses were quite good. When the bill came, our total was $275 per couple (all in after gratuity). This was probably a little lighter than our usual, when more have alcohol and we're eating the more expensive meat or fish dishes vs. pastas. All said, we continue to recommend Nonna Carola. It's an excellent restaurant, and even nicer in the summer when you can sit outside.

Had a fabulous party with 12 guests. I used the price fix menu which was so much food and lots of choices for the main course. The food was 10/10 as was our server Oliver. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing night. Our fantastic waiter Oliver even went out of his way to take lots of great group photos for us. I will definitely be doing more events at Nonna, 5 stars aren’t enough!
